City of Chattanooga Hamilton County

Chattanooga is located in Southeast Tennessee near the Georgia border; it is the fourth largest city in Tennessee. Chattanooga’s population in 2006 was estimated to be 153,789 and in Hamilton County the estimated population in 2006 was 310,584. Chattanooga is 675 feet above sea level and has moderate climate, with cool winters, very warm summers and a yearly temperature average of 60.5 degrees. Located in the Eastern Time zone, major cities west of Chattanooga operate on the Central Time zone; they include Birmingham, Huntsville Alabama, and Nashville Tennessee. The local economy includes a diversified mix of manufacturing.
